Perpetual Groove added to Jam In The Dam 2008

Hello All! Is everyone sitting down? Good, cause here comes the big news......PERPETUAL GROOVE IS GOING TO AMSTERDAM!!!! What, didn't get that the first time? I said, PERPETUAL GROOVE IS GOING TO AMSTERDAM!!! We're not even half way through 2007, and already we've got the potentially biggest show of 2008 lined up! You voted, they listened, so it's now time to "step up to the passline," tickets are on sale July 20th and are limited, so don't waste anytime! Let the planning begin!

Jam in the Dam organizers tried to narrow the choices to artists that had expressed interest in past years, and also would contribute to an amazing show. Well, as hard as they tried, they couldn’t narrow it down to two more bands. So, they’re bringing three! Six bands, you ask, how is that going to work in three nights? It won’t. So they are expanding the festival to four nights!

The three additional bands are the Disco Biscuits, Dark Star Orchestra, and Perpetual Groove. These were the top three vote-getters in the poll. You spoke, we listened. But we had to get very creative to accomplish this lineup. Here’s how: The festival will now span four nights, March 16-17-18-19, 2008. We are also taking the unusual step of announcing the schedule concurrent with this announcement, so folks can get a gander at exactly how it will work. In short, DSO will only play the first two nights in the Max. Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits will each have one night off out of four to come and play fans/guest musicians. We will run Tea Leaf Green, PGroove, and Lotus in the Old Hall each night, but only for March 16-17-18. On the 19th, the only show will be Umphrey’s McGee and the Biscuits in the Max, doing slightly longer sets.

We expect there to be a huge demand for tickets this year. As such, there will only be one price for tickets. No early-bird, but also no price increase later. And the best news? We have only increased the ticket by $25 from this past year’s late price, but are offering a whole extra night of music and two more artists. Tickets will be $250 for the four nights, and $40 (30 euro) for the DSO pre-party on the 15th. On sale will commence July 20th. There will be 1500 four night passes available (same as the first three years), and a limited amount of one-night tickets, @$65. The capacity of the Max expanded two weeks before JitD 2007 from 1000 to 1500, and those of you who have been before will be impressed by the renovation. Capacity of the Old Hall is 750, and that’s how many tickets will be available to the DSO pre-party.

We have worked hard to get this done as early as possible, so the saving, planning, and passport obtaining can start WAY in advance. Be aware that since passports are now required for Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean, wait times are up to 10 weeks, without paying an expedited fee. We are completely stoked about this format and lineup. It’s a great mix of JitD veterans and virgins, and will offer more music than ever. After all, the fans have been there for us all along, and we owe it you to supply the best experience of your life. If you want to tell a friend about this, simply click here to refer them to the website.

We are elated to be a part of this wonderful event and we expect to see many of you join us on our first trip to Europe! See you in March!

Perpetual Groove Launches Green Credit Ticket!

5•22•2007

In our ongoing effort to battle carbon dioxide emissions and the detrimental impact they have on global warming, Perpetual Groove, in conjunction with Inticketing, Green Mountiain Energy Company, and Sustainable Waves is pleased to announce that fans now have the option to "green-up" their ticket though PGroove Netix. When purchasing tickets through Perpetual Groove's online Netix service, customers will have the option of purchasing a renewable energy credit for the price of $2.00. This renewable energy credit is issued by Green Mountain Energy Company and offsets approximately 348 pounds of carbon dioxide - which is like not driving your car 387 miles, recycling 850 aluminum cans, and equal to the eco-benefit of approximately 21 trees. We offer this service in addition to our "buy a ticket, plant a tree" program which donates a small portion of each ticket purchased to reforestation efforts across the country. CO2 is widely recognized as one of the primary contributors to global warming and an increase in climate change. The United States, with only 5% of the population, releases almost 25% of the world’s CO2. We release at a per capita rate that is twice as high as the next highest releasers on the planet. Without a decrease in our CO2 emissions, our planet will experience a variety of detrimental effects on worldwide climate, increased weather related catastrophes, and rising sea levels due to an overall increase in global temperature. Perpetual Groove is reaching out through their platform as entertainers to help raise the awareness of these global issues and encouraging their fans to make a difference by helping to reduce the amount of CO2 emitted into our atmosphere. Perpetual Groove's latest studio release, LIVELOVEDIE, was produced entirely with renewable energy credits. We have requested a change to our green ticketing, to better reflect the amount of travel conducted by fans, and to make the option more cost effective. The change will be reflected on the ticketing page shortly. We are reducing the cost of ticket from $6.00 to $2.00. The ticket still has the same benefits, scaled down to directly reflect the amount of energy purchased.
