Announcing The Serious Business Tour
7•31•2007
It's time to get serious and down to business! And with that, after a light summer, Perpetual Groove returns full time to the road in September. This summer saw the band take their first extended vacation in over six years, performing at just a hand-full of shows and festivals in and around the Southeast. But with the fall season quickly approaching, the members of Perpetual Groove are gearing up for another long stint on the road. Initial tour dates include stops in the Southeast, the Midwest, and The Northeast. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks. In October, the band continues their tradition of TAKING OVER the Variety Playhouse on Halloween night. In December, Perpetual Groove breaks from tradition, as they move New Year’s Eve to Charlotte, NC for two nights at The Neighborhood Theatre. Tickets for NYE go on sale immediately, but look for an announcement soon from the Neighborhood Theatre for special lodging and transportation packages for each night.
The Serious Business Tour is powered by Green Mountain Energy Company and is leaving a positive impact on the environment. All emissions from this tour will be offset with renewable energy credits through our partnership with Sustainable Waves and Eco-Tunes. This includes all the travel, lodging, and electricity expended by the venues for a Perpetual Groove concert. For the first time ever we’re offering fans a way to “green-up” their ticket through PGroove Netix, the band’s own online ticketing service. For an additional two dollars, you may purchase your own renewable energy credit to offset the emissions created by traveling to and from Perpetual Groove performances. And of course, for every ticket purchased through our website, one tree is planted. We strongly encourage our fans to take advantage of this opportunity and to commit themselves to bettering the environment.
The tour kicks off in Atlanta and Nashville, but really gets in gear the second week of September. Perpetual Groove will be staging a two-night hometown stand at The Georgia Theatre. Presented by The Friends of The Georgia Theatre, proceeds from the shows will benefit the continued restoration of the theatre, and Nucci’s Space, Athens’ non-profit health and resource centre for musicians. Show your support for this wonderful community and join Perpetual Groove for two nights at our home venue. On Saturday night the band returns to The Music Farm in Charleston and then heads up the coast for a special outdoor performance in Wilmington, NC. After a concentration of shows in the Southeast, the band will head North for a handful of performances in the Midwest before rolling back home for a quick breather. From there, it's off to the Northeast. A return to New York City & The Grammercy Theatre is on the calendar, as is a night in Troy at Revolution Hall. Some people call The Stone Church the "Joint" of the Northeast, we call it a good time. Do not miss this chance to see the band in this intimate, energetic environment - you never know when it might be the last stop for The Rev and crew. The band returns to the Southeast for Halloween and a quick two week tour before taking a few days off with loved ones for Thanksgiving. In December, after a trip to Texas, the band escapes to Florida before prepping their New Year’s Eve Extravaganza.
The band kicks off 2007 with another monumental trip aboard the latest installment of Jam Cruise. The big news however comes in February as the band returns to California – bringing with them, the first official live Perpetual Groove album, which is tentatively set to release on February 19th. And don't forget, the highlight of the spring! JAM IN THE DAM! That's right, you'll have your first opportunity to follow the band across the sea to Europe as they join Umphrey's Mcgee, The Disco Biscuits, Dark Star Orchestra, Tea Leaf Green, and Lotus for their first ever performances in Amsterdam at the legendary Melkweg. Tickets are still available for Jam in the Dam, but moving fast, so don’t wait any longer! Head on over to
