Ted Freed, R.I.P.

Today we mourn the passing of our friend and former business manager, Ted Freed. Ted truly embodied the spirit of a kind soul and he will be missed. We first met Ted as his efforts to bring live music to the Tampa scene were blossoming and quickly developed a friendship that resulted in several shows in the tampa area and ultimately, his employment as our first business manager. Ted firmly believed in the power of bringing people together through music; he played in his own band, he promoted shows, he managed local bands and helped to nurture the careers of several musicians by any means possible. His efforts culminated in his first ever festival, Euphonia, at The Spanish Moss Farms in Florida. Perpetual Groove would not be where they are today without his help and we are forever grateful.

Crystal Bay Cancelled for Saturday Night

2•22•2008

We regret to inform our fans that the band has been forced to cancel tomorrow night's appearance at The Crystal Bay Casino due to weather and snow accumulation in the mountain pass en route to the venue. In addition, we are unable to chain the tires on the bus due to contractual obligations with the charter company. To our fans in Tahoe - we're sorry we won't be making it in for some hot casino action, but we'll do our best to catch you on the next go around. Tonight's show in Petaluma and this weekend's two night stand in Eureka are both still on....thanks for the support California! PG

Announcing Amberland 2008

2•16•2008

You are cordially invited to attend Amberland 2008! Fans and friends, new and old, are invited to come experience the annual Perpetual Groove ritual known as Amberland this Memorial Day Weekend, at Cherokee Farms in Lafayette, GA. We're just a stone's throw North of Atlanta on I-75 and just South of Chattanooga - somewhere in the middle, on a beautiful piece of rolling property where once again we will come together to close out the spring and kick off the summer.

Amberland is a Perpetual Groove tradition, a giant ice cream social, an excuse to all get together under the stars, and a time to celebrate this fantastic community that has developed and evolved around the band over the past seven years. It's a weekend marathon of fun, sun, great friends, and the perfect summer soundtrack of music from your favorite band. In a time that continues to be inundated with events that force you to sprint from stage to stage, we offer ample time for relaxation and socializing for those in attendance. Often times its the notes that aren't played that provide for some of the most timeless memories and moments, onstage and off.

Tickets will be sold in tiered allotments, and as each allotment sells out, that price tier will close. Buying early will save you big bucks, so lock in your ticket as early as possible to secure the best deal. Ticket prices include early Friday admission, car camping, six sets from Perpetual Groove, the annual Sunday morning Brockfest, and much more. Tickets will go on sale February 19th, at 12:00PM EST through Perpetual Groove's online ticketing site under the "tour" tab of the official band website, http://www.pgroove.com. Ticket prices are as follows:

Early Bird Special #1 - $65.00
Early Bird Special #2 - $75.00
Early Bird Special #3 - $85.00
Early Bird Special #4 - $95.00
Day of Show Weekend Pass - $105.00

There will be no RV passes sold this year, but you are welcome to bring an RV, camper, or tow behind trailer. You will be directed to a specific camping area, so as to not disturb the primitive camping areas. Days passes will be sold only for Sunday at a cost of $50.00, there are no Saturday-only passes. Amberland is a no re-entry event, so please come prepared for the weekend. We will not have ATMs or credit card machines on site this year, so please come prepared with plenty of cash for vending and basic supplies that will be made available at the general store. Jeff Wood of Drowning Creek Studios will once again be producing another beautiful limited edition print to commemorate the event and for those that purchase the print, you will have the opportunity to have it signed by the band.

We're extremely excited to have the opportunity to once again host the best fans around for another memorable weekend. Please spread the word, tell your friends, bring your friends, make new friends and bring them too - your words are our best promotional tool! Keep checking back to http://www.pgroove.com or the Amberland MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/pgamberland) for more information in the next two weeks, including travel directions, special theme night announcements, and more general details! We've also opened a special Amberland forum on the band's official online community message forum, Talking In Place. You must be a member of the forum to view and post, so if you have any questions or just want to chat more about the event, then please sign up and join the group!

We can't wait to see you again this year!
