A Quick Lesson

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases trap the sun’s energy in the earth’s atmosphere rather than allowing the hear to radiate back into space. CO2 is widely recognized as one of the primary contributors to global warming and an increase in climate change.

The United States, with only 5% of the population, releases almost 25% of the world’s CO2. We release at a per capita rate that is twice as high as the next highest releasers on the planet.

Without a decrease in our CO2 emissions, our planet will experience a variety of detrimental effects on worldwide climate, increased weather related catastrophes, and rising sea levels due to an overall increase in global temperature.

Perpetual Groove is reaching out through their platform as entertainers to help raise the awareness of these global issues and encouraging their fans to make a difference by helping to reduce the amount of CO2 emitted into our atmosphere.

Our Partners:
Making Music Green

Perpetual Groove has partnered with Tree Sound Studios, Sustainable Waves, and Green Mountain Energy Company to help blaze a trail in the fight against environmental threats like Global Warming.

All of Perpetual Groove’s printed promotional materials (posters, flyers, postcards, handbills, etc) are created using 30% PCW (Post Consumer Waste) materials and are printed with soy based and vegetable inks.

LIVELOVEDIE, the band’s latest album was produced entirely with renewable energy with the help of Tree Sound Studios, Sustainable Waves, and Green Mountain Energy Company.

The packaging for LIVELOVEDIE was printed on 50% PCW (Post Consumer Waste) and 50% PIW (Post Industrial Waste) with soy-based inks.

All PGroove Netix tickets are printed on hemp/flax recycled paper.

Patrons of Perpetual Groove’s online ticketing site and merchandise store are given the option of donating $.15 when purchasing tickets or CDs to cover the cost of planting a tree. In addition, all materials used to mail merchandise or tickets are made from recycled products.

Beginning on April 16th, fans who purchase tickets directly from Perpetual Groove will have the option to “green up” their ticket by purchasing renewable energy credits to help offset the emissions expelled by traveling to the show.

Renewable Energy Credits

A “REC” (Renewable Energy Credit or Renewable Energy Certificate), sometimes called a green tag or “TRC” (Tradable Renewable Certificate), represents the environmental benefits of 1 MWh of power generated from renewable electricity facilities.

These environmental benefits include the fact that electricity was generated using 100% renewable resources (like wind, water, solar and bio-energy), that no additional Carbon Dioxide (CO2) was emitted into the air as a result of this generation, and that the generation facility is “new”, as defined under the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions Green-e program.
