Ok, I got the winner right here….I Need A Miracle (akin to the Closing of Winterland 1978 version) - Grateful Dead
WAIT!!! Just hear me out. I’ve had a vision (albeit my visions are typically quite demented) and this is what Jerry would want…
-No need to explain the Rev’s role in this. Hard hat and safety vest modeling is recommended for necessary secondary humor that only TIP perps will recognize and appreciate.
-Albro will EASILY fill the role of Mickey & Bill. He may opt to use one hand for the performance if it needs to be a “challenge” to convince him to do it.
-Matt can revamp Keith Godchaux’s performance or opt to go in either direction in timeline to perform as Pigpen or Bruce, or D-All of the Above (or to the left in this formatting instance)
-Damien Perry will sit in on it to complete the hetty dueling lead guitar jam with Brock on slide-n-guitar.
-Ladies of PG will collectively fill Donna Jean’s role (and surely be better at it)
-AAAAAND, last but MOST importantly, Adam Perry’s FIRST lead vocal cover song with the band. He MUST wear the Bob Weir legendary “Bobby Shorts” as well as the Lesh glasses in order to fill both roles or it’s a no-go.

It’s All Over Now Baby Blue - Bob Dylan
+1
You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin’ through
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
All your reindeer armies, are all going home
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who’s rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
Tell me that shit wouldn’t make you drink a pint of whiskey, and I’ll call you a liar.

You imply that this wasn’t already the plan.

You’re right, Kevdub. I should clarify my implications on that comment by revising it to say, “Tell me that cover wouldn’t make you try to guzzle a pint of whiskey before it ended, and I’ll call you a liar” with any emphasis on the word “try”. My skinny ass couldn’t accomplish that type of effort, but you get the picture. IT WOULD BE AWESOME.

‘missed the boat’ - modest mouse
...the “Well we knew we had the good things, but those never seemed to last. Oh please just last” lyric seems exceptionally appropriate

TTFPJ (with Gary on sax) > Dance Motherfucker Dance! (Violent Femmes) > TTFPJ
TTFPJ is the vehicle to come in and crush some “Dance Motherfucker”. I can just see Brock and Matt just getting after the chorus. It has it all… the jam… the horns… the vox… the keys… DO IT!!!!!
