Aloha all -
Would anyone be up for an ongoing Fantasy Pgroove setlist game? Friends of mine and I have been doing this for other bands and I’ve found it to be awesome fun, good banter, and a great avenue for connection and conversation about music we all love.
If the interest is there we could create our own rules and scoring system. Any takers?

Sweet - let’s play! Suggestions for rules?
A couple ideas we’ve used in the past:
- Pick sets openers/closers, a few set wildcards, and the encore. You earn points based on placement (e.g. opener = 5 points, wildcard = 3 points, etc…). Change picks every show.
- Same thing but you keep your picks for every show (e.g. Phantasy Tour).
- Pick 5-8 songs per show, and each song is scored different based on its frequency of being played (e.g. Legends of Preston = 10 points, Lemurs = 1 point). I’ve found this way to be most fun, but we don’t have the stats program to back it up (yet)...so unless someone wants to go through the catalog and score all the songs this probably isn’t the best option (yet).
What else?

I like picking an opener, closer, encore and 3 wildcards. I love that idea. Maybe 5 points for opener, 5 for closer, 4 for encore, 3 for wildcard, and 1 if your pick for opener, closer, or encore was played.
Bonus of 25 points if you correctly predict a double encore?

Alrighty…should we do opener/closer for both sets? Something like this:
Set1Opener - 5pts
Set1WC - 3 pts
Set1WC - 3 pts
Set1WC - 3 pts
Set1Closer - 5pts
Set2Opener - 5pts
Set2WC - 3 pts
Set2WC - 3 pts
Set2WC - 3 pts
Set2Closer - 5pts
Encore - 4pts
1pt for picking a song played, but in the wrong position (e.g. calling a MWATA opener when it was played mid-set).
Thoughts?
Also, what do y’all think about making the 4 new tunes (Lemurs, MWATA, Devil, Holy Ship) ineligible? Those 4 are always getting played at this point, and would be pretty easy points. Personally, I’m fine either way but just wanted to throw it out there for consideration.

I like it Billy!
I wouldn;t omit the fabulous four if we still have to call the spot and the set. Let’s leave em ALL IN…imo
We’ll need to know how to make our picks obviously and the deadline (e.g. 6pm). If you attend soundcheck you should be ineligible. The submission deadline should be as early as reaonable on show day. No later than 7pm ET or so.

Let’s not make anything inelgible. Having those 4 makes it hard to pick where they will come and makes you have to watch what they play show to show.

Sometimes it is one set, so would that change anything?

I’ll be happy to throw in some merch for a winner if we can set a defined time period this will run, like until end of year?
Would there be a submission timeline, like has to be in day before show or something?

Agreed. How about 6pm EST on the day of the show for a deadline?
For one set shows: would we always know in advance if thats the case or not? If we do have that heads up then obviously we make our picks accordingly. If not, and we all make picks for two sets+encore when they play one set, perhaps we could combine opener/closer picks so we get two chances at the opener/closer? All wildcards would remain as chosen.
I like the consensus about the 4 new tunes.
Maybe we could run this from 10/1 - 12/31?

I’d say that’s WAY too many picks…
Usually do something easier like:
Set Opener(s), Closer(s), Encore and Wild Card
2 Points for the right slot
1 Point if they play it

1 set shows..tough call…and usually that decision isn’t made until much later in the eve from my experience. Maybe we throw those nights out?
