I like the idea of announcing the entire run at once (kudos to that), but it’s thoroughly disappointing that the dates don’t include one show in New England or at least the capitol region of NY.
They had a good thing going with Showcase Live…too bad it couldn’t fit into the routing, but skipping the Boston/ Southern NH/ Albany markets all together this fall is a mistake. That said, hopefully a date can be squeezed in somewhere….although the venues that are the perfect fit for Pgroove keep closing down. Didn’t Syracuse garner a very receptive crowd in the spring as well?
An updated version of the Met Cafe (same owners as Lupos) is opening this fall near Providence…might be worth looking into.

postman - 22 July 2010 08:08 PM Halloween is not listed on the tour dates but is mentioned in the announcement as official.
Still not listed. Only 10/30 is showing up. Considering it’s one of the scenes biggest holidays shouldn’t it not only be listed but put in bold and marketed like hell to get people to decide to spend Halloween with PG?

Yea…a little confused on this one. Are there going to be two Cville shows, or has the date just been fudged up?

The announcement said Halloween
And they were going to announce the theme beforehand again
So I’m guessing it’s just the date that’s wrong
No way with that tour the show is the 30th, not the 31st

31st is a Sunday.

what does it matter if its Sunday…. I think the only time you don’t holiday show on the right date is if it lands on sunday and they wanna stay home… With the rules in Ga.
But hey I can’t make it this year But It looks like we are heading to both of the NYC shows… Now the Brooklyn Bowl looks cool as shit.. I wanna bowl game during setbreak…. he he he
Man i hope we get to go….

Halloween is being celebrated on the 30th. Sunday night shows don’t typically do as well in light of the fact that most people have to work on Monday. By having the show on Saturday, it opens up the option of not only having people travel in for the show, but eliminates the worry about arriving to work on Monday at less then 100%.

You might want to clarify in the tour dates and announcement that the 30th show will be the Halloween show. Just sayin.

I’m still hoping that they’ll squeeze some new england shows in somewhere….was really happy about the north hampton show till it got bumped off for some other town…......I really try to avoid NYC, nowhere to park, $15 for a 6 pack of beer…kind of an all around pain in the ass kind of place, unless you have a ton of money burning a hole in your pocket….but i guess if that’s as close as they’re gonna come, I will make the trip, lol

i for one am much happier with this setup…no way i could make it to a sunday show out of town.

Nothing listed yet on Subterranean Chicago’s site for a 9/3 or 9/4 show and nothing listed on the Majestic Theater for 9/3 or 9/4. Perhaps some chi town and madison love for the dates to follow St Louis on 9/2….we will see!

for those Florida folks traveling to shows, I just got this from Travel Zoo:
Sample fares from Florida (each way, based on roundtrip travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday):
•Orlando-Raleigh ... $57
•Miami-Washington, D.C. ... $67
•Miami-New York City ... $76
•Jacksonville-Denver ... $98
•West Palm Beach-Las Vegas ... $98
•Ft. Myers-San Francisco ... $99
Book by Aug. 13.
Book directly on AA.com to avoid booking fees and to find the lowest fares. If a lower fare is found for the exact same flight and itinerary for at least $5 less on another website (for the same day of purchase), American Airlines will refund the difference and give a $50 promotion code for use toward a future flight.

Totally understand the reason… But this show is going to be mostly College kids… I think its great for folks that have jobs and such for travel reasons…
I wish we could make it…. But instead we will be heading to NYC….
