I hope that a lot of you who are drawn to the 930 Club show will make a multi-day trip out of it and come to the King George High School Sports Hall of Fame benefit show on Thursday evening. King George is only one hour south of Washington D.C. We need your support. Hope to see you there.

If you get there early you can walk up a few blocks on U Street and grub at Ben’s Chili Bowl

i saw this place on an episode of ‘no reservations.’ i’m def gonna check it out.

i’ll be in DC for a few days, and my friend has to work, so that gives me some time to explore and do my tourist thing.

anything specific i should do? i’ve never been before.

i want to check out the smithsonian, either the air and space or natural history museum.

IMO dont waste your time at the Air & Space downtown.  The new one out by dulles airport is WAY better.  it has tons of aircraft in it including the Enola Gaye (plane that dropped the bombs on Japan), an SR-71 blackbird, and a Space Shuttle.  Just to name a few.

I’m not a fan of the natural history museum, prolly been there too many times.  American History is amazing.  So is the Spy Museum (but you have to pay to go to that one)
As far as monuments go.  Def go to the Lincoln and Jefferson (my fav), Arlington National cometary and Iwo Jima, and find the Einstein statue on Constitution & 22nd.

Iwo Jima and the national cemetery are walking distance off the orange and blue lines (Rosslyn metro station)
All the major monuments on the mall are also metro accessible.  Either Federal Triangle or Smithsonian stations - also on Orange and Blue lines.
Be prepared to walk tho.  It can wear you down.  The mall itself is probably 2 miles from the Capital to the Lincoln.  lots of back and forth.
Here is a pretty good walking tour of the mall.
smithsonian station -> American History -> WWII -> Vietnam -> Einstein -> Lincoln ->Jefferson -> Holocaust   Busy day for sure

Any reason I should be concerned about a sell out?  I plan on buying tickets at the door and I’m not sure how big the venue is or what the crowd is expected to be.  Also does anyone know what the parking is like?  I see that you can buy a $10 parking pass.  But you can only claim your tix in will call so how would I park before getting my tix which would include the parking pass?  I will probably just end up buying tix at the door and parking wherever I can find a spot but any info would be appreciated.

I wish I could make it to this… it is a wonderful thing they are doing for you! However, I have to work all day today and live in Knoxville. Otherwise I’d be there. I hope many many fans come smile

PG’s set starts at 11:10 according to the 9:30 website.  This give me plenty of time for pregame activities.  So unless they are allowed to play till about 2 I’m guessing it will be a big one set show.
