    Welcome to Amberland 2012

LaFayette, GA - Amberland XI, Perpetual Groove’s Memorial Day weekend Arts & Music Festival, will take place May 25th-28th, 2012 and will once again be situated on 260 pristine acres at Cherokee Farms in LaFayette, GA. Amberland features six sets of music from Perpetual Groove as well as music from their favorite up and coming artists.

Bands scheduled to play for 2012 include The Heavy Pets from Florida, Moon Taxi from Tennessee and Consider the Source from New York City. Additional artists may be announced in the Spring of 2012.

“Amberland is our favorite time of year,” says guitarist Brock Butler. “I feel like it’s the one time of year that we can all gather as a family and as friends. It’s amazing to see so many people we’ve known for ten years and beyond. The vibe, the laid back feel, and the chance to play anything we want without feeling pressure is something we don’t ever take for granted.”

In addition, the weekend will feature live art, themed costume nights, a disc golf tournamanet, yoga, artist workshops, and more. The theme for Amberland XI 2012 is “Where Did All The Penguins Go?” This theme is based around the popular Perpetual Groove song “Macumba.” Site décor and costume nights will reflect this theme.

“It’s going to be wonderful to celebrate Amberland this year with our closest friends and family,” says keyboardist Matthew McDonald. “It will be even more special with my wife and I bringing the newest member of our family to his first Amberland.”

Over the years, one thing that has made Amberland what it is today is its laid-back, backyard party vibe.  “It started off as a backyard party, and we want to keep that same enthusiasm about it and preserve the intimacy that makes it so special,” Butler says. The fans take this time every year not only to enjoy the music, but also to reunite with friends and family from all over the world. Amberland IS their family reunion.  Together, they’ve shared laughter, tears, marriage proposals and weddings, rain and sunshine.  No matter how much people’s lives change year after year, one weekend remains constant for everyone involved.  See for yourself, and you will know why so many come back year after year.

Amberland: It’s not a place, but a state of mind.
